2013 WeHo Carnaval Entertainment Lineup –Fronteirs LA

The city of West Hollywood has finalized its lineup of entertainment for this year's West Hollywood Carnaval. The city promises a 1950s noir theme for the night in a city where Humphrey Bogart and Lana Turner first became entangled. The city will resurrect a tongue-in-cheek throwback to noir films and give the 2013 West Hollywood Carnival an ambiance that is dark, dangerous and glamorous with a lot of sass.

The Noir City Stage on Santa Monica Boulevard at San Vicente will be emceed by Jeffrey Damnit and include performances by the house band Vaud & The Villains, a staged performance from new LGBT musical Behind Closed Doors and a variety of cabaret and choreography from Halloween Hullabaloo. A performance highlight will include operatic arias from 21-year-old Jonathan Allen of America’s Got Talent.

The Speakeasy Stage on Santa Monica Boulevard at Almont will feature 1950s crooner Lynda Kay, the hilarious singer/songwriter duo Better Off Blonde, and the smooth noir jazz stylings of The Toledo Show. Femme fatale and West Hollywood Carnaval legend Momma will return to emcee the stage.

The Pulp Friction Stage on Santa Monica Boulevard at West Knoll will have Coco Peru playing Nightclub Chanteuse in Drag at the Coco Club. This stage will include performances by the electric Gavin Turek and a full electronic dance set from rising international DJ Zen Freeman. Zen’s set will feature special vignette performances by contemporary burlesque dance troupe Velvet Martini and other guest DJs.

Three additional stages will continue Carnaval’s recent tradition to encourage audience interaction. DJ Moses Truzman and emcee Peter Giovine will perform at The Caper Club Stage, on Santa Monica Boulevard at Westbourne; DJ Max Von Ville and emcee Ant will perform at the Ant’s Asylum Stage on Santa Monica Boulevard at North Palm; and DJ Aaron Colbert will spin at the Hooligans Hall Stage on Santa Monica Boulevard at North La Peer.

In all, over 50 artists will light up six stages on one noir night in West Hollywood, home of the largest Halloween gathering in the nation.

Saturday, December 7th - 2nd Annual Holiday Rock Concert & Toy Drive –PRLOG

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov. 12, 2013 - LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- ShockBoxTV is hosting their 2nd Annual Holiday Rock Concert and Toy Drive on Saturday, December 7th, 2013 at Busby’s East in Hollywood. The event aims to raise thousands of dollars worth of new toys to donate to the LAFD & ABC7’s 21st Annual ‘Spark of Love’ toy drive, which delivers toys to underserved children in the greater Los Angeles area during the Holidays.

This year’s event includes live performances by two Los Angeles based rock bands, The Shakers and Better Off Blonde. “We are so excited to be a part of this event. Raising money for such a special charity is a very heartwarming experience. It is the best way to let the kids know that someone is thinking of them during the holiday season,” says Shannon Hunt and Lauren Tarantino, together forming the pop/rock duo Better Off Blonde.

“I have this great photo from a Christmas past when Santa Clause gave my sister and me Mary Lou Retton leotards. I was such a tiny little thing, but when I wore those I felt like a superhero,” says Jodie Schell, lead singer of The Shakers.

Matt Prater, creator of the event, is hoping for a very successful second year. “Last year’s event was spectacular and brought in a few thousand dollars worth of new toys for children. This year, we’re hoping to see that number increase significantly.”

The cost to attend is a donation of $15.00 (minimum) worth of new, unwrapped toys for children. For more information regarding LAFD & ABC7’s ‘Spark of Love” toy drive, please visit http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/feature?section=resources/lif....
